VH has arisen as a transformative force in Vietnam’s academic landscape, providing essential

support to economically disadvantaged students since its founding in 2002. By combining monetary scholarships with capacity-building projects, the group tackles both immediate fiscal barriers and sustained developmental needs.

Established in 2002 by Vietnamese-American students at Harvard University, VietHope worked to resolve institutional academic disparities in Vietnam. The nonprofit’s mission—to empower economically challenged students through access to schooling—arises from understanding that financial hardship remains the chief barrier to academic continuation.
